Hi Hermaniye, I understand from the market maker point of view. They need to earn a living as well. But it doesn't mean to sacrafice execution time and service to do so. To be honest, they don't care unless you are a big guy with 1mil+. If you are this big, then I suggest you go to BexterFX. Take a look at their product. Not too many people know them. If you just started FX trading, then I recommend you try Oanda, pretty simple to use platform and execution time is good. Hope this helps.

Hi Hermaniye, I do know FXCM and GFT. They are among the biggest retail fx market makers in the states. If you have limited capital. I would advice you to trade with Oanda. They don't have fancy charts like GFT and big marketing team like FXCM but they are pretty good in terms of execution time. The good thing about Oanda is that you can change leverage on the fly, and I consider this is a very good tool for the novice even advanced traders. If you want to play big, then try Baxter FX or CitiBank Japan. I think the only way for you to find out about who is the best is to open small accounts with FXCM, GFT and others and find out yourself with the test of a real account.

Hi Hermaniye, GFT has a very fancy and functional trading platform with
nice charts. If you are a technical trader, try their charts. Also
fxtrek has a good charting package but you need subscribe to use it. If
you can, try to open accounts with your selected market makers and
split your investment to see which one is the best. Good Luck.

I'm with GFT and I'm more than happy with them. I used to be with FX Solutions & CMS Forex, but their service just sucks. GFT has an excellent platform and guaranteed and instanteneous fills and THEY LISTEN TO THEIR CUSTOMER. If you want to setup minilots (10k) with them, just ask the sales guy. He will send you a special form.

LostFx, I've been doing some research about which market maker is good.
Apprently, the banners on the right side of the forum are the sponsors.
No hard feeling but I must conclude the top guys are GFT and Oanda.
Reason? GFT has a strong financial balance sheet. The platform is a lot
of user friendly and you can do deals with other clients. It's a very
good feather, sort like HotSpotFX. Oanda's platform is plain but
reliable. Espically with tight spread and change leverage on the fly.

Hi eHonda & everyone else,
I too am new to the FX market and I've also been doing my homework on some FX firms out there. I saw an ad for this new platform, the "RCG Trader." I visited their site and it looked pretty interesting. I downloaded their demo to see what it was all about and it was pretty good (I've also downloaded GFT's, and CMC's). It was pretty easy to use and had a lot of good features. Anyone else had any experience with this one?

Hi Domer, RCG Trader is not a proprietary software developed by
Rosenthal Collins Group. If you look at their platform, it looks like
Saxo Bank's trading platform. And indeed, it is a while label of Saxo
Trader. You can check RCG's news page. The Saxo's trading platform is
pretty good. It's easy to use and the platform has news, charts,
everything. If it's not good, I guess E*Trade won't use Saxo Trader
either. Well, a savvy forex trader will compare different trading
platforms before making a decision. Because all of them have their
advantages and shortcomings. Good luck Domer.

go to www.fxstreet.com
there you will find all the fx brokers listed and you can conduct your research from there. all of them have free demo to check out their platforms, check out their spreads, and then contact each one until you find one you like.

What's up with the FXCM's platform lately? It's quite slow. Does any forex dealer provide quick trade executions during the news release? Is there a real computer trading system like Nasdaq? Please help, I am tired of these FCMs keep making up stories.

well well .. I read about FX Solutions and CMS Forex on your posting .. yep .. they suck alright !!! .. I tried to get straight answers on topic "money managers" from a FX Solutins online chat rep and got excuses and had to press hard for yes or no answers .. BEWARE !!!!!!!!! .. as for CMS Forex .. their "v trader" demo station is a royal pain in the bleep the customer service reps on the chatline address EVERYONE "Sir" and that tells me this might be an "ol' boys club" .. call me a feminist .. but some of traders out here WEAR PANTYHOSE and are no "Sir's"
Thanks for your posting .. enjoyed reading it and loved responding to it .. RA RA RA RA RA :)

Some says the bigger is better, others argue smaller offers personal services. Do your due diligence before stepping into the live Forex world. Check their demo systems. If you want to check the net capital of the forex broker, CFTC publishs FCM financials on a monthly basis. The link is http://www.cftc.gov/tm/tmfcm.htm Beware those advertising gimmicks such as guarantee prices, fixed spreads, etc. Usually, there's a disclaimer in small print at the bottom of the page. Not always the case in volatile markets. So far, my best choice is Gain Capital Gain Capital or their DBA Forex.com. Great platform, great service, period

Hi Hermaniye, I am a newby just like you. I have found that a good eduction is by far the best edge to have in this market. I took a course from this gal that has it all together. She really brought the complex down to my level. The best thing is she is alway there to answer my questions, email, phone and even one on one follow up training. What a deal. I have used fxcm and may others, and as "they" say 6 of 1 etc. Best of luck, but the edge is eduction

I've definitely heard of the program metatrader, I think many experienced traders use that platform...they have a forum on their website too that is really helpful:

The worst possible FX Dealers
We are a group of traders, who were unlucky to choose FXFD (Forex Financial Dealer, www.fxfd.com) or Forex Technologies Ltd (FXTrader.net) as our broker. Our deposits, profits from trades were stolen by the above companies. We intend to expose that fraud on the internet/media and to the authorities in the counties where these companies operate. If you have any information about FXFD, Forex Technologies Ltd or World Investment Group Inc. they belong to, please email us: js-reed@hotmail.com

I agree with Metaquotes Plattform ,I have been using it for over year now. You can do automated trading and all kinds of cool stuff. I have tried alot of plattforms and prefer Metaquotes Metatrader. For a broker I use Interbankfx, they now have a mini micro or something like that. You can trade for 10 cents a PIP. Plus they do not have a dealing desk, which is great, it keeps them honest. Just My Opinion

Hi. I have been trading for the past three years now and I tried 4 different brokers. They were Refco, FXCM, CMC, and Spencer Financial. All of them have decent customer service and software. But I chose to stick with Spencer Financial and have been trading with them for about 6 months now. They got excellent customre service, great software that allows you to hedge and monitor your trades from charts. They also got very tight spreads that I could not find anywhere. 2 pips spread for EUR and JPY for other majors just 3 pips. I calculated that I am saving lots of money on spreads alone!
If you need other suggestions just let me know.
